Zeus is still loving life despite……

image
Zeus is approaching his fifth month ampuversary ❤️ Unfortunately he was found to have mets to the lungs at his last visit to Penn. they give him 2 months and that was a month ago. Zeus remains happy and playful although fatigues easily. I am not sure if I would do this all again. I just feel like I am waiting in Limbo now. I am also sad that research is showing that neutering a dog before full maturity causes a significant increase in cancer. I will not make that mistake again. Meanwhile Zeus will be spoiled until his last day. Can anyone tell me what to expect in the following weeks. I am devastated😢😢😢

  1. Theresa and Zeus,
I am saddened by the mets but boy do I know what you are feeling…Love him, hug him kiss him spoil him sleep next to him have a plan with what youll do if he turns for the worse suddenly. I didnt and my last night with Zeus was not what I envisioned. My Zeus was happy playful and fatigued easily too. It was only days after that. Youve done everything you can Theresa, make sure u find a great vet now that comes to the house, my biggest mistake…Lean on us! Call us, never give up, I will pray! I love you and Zeus! We all do. 3. I’m really sorry. This kind of news is so hard and it makes us go crazy with all the “what ifs..” But if there’s one thing we learned when dealing with Jerry’s cancer and lung mets, is that we cannot let cancer take away any of the precious moments we have together. That’s the only way it can win, if we allow it to steal the beauty of each day together.

Zeus isn’t letting it do that, and if you follow his lead, you won’t have any regrets about the road ahead.

As for what to expect…lung mets impact stamina and most dogs develop a cough. But even when that happens it’s not the end of the road, there are many things you can to do alleviate symptoms and help him continue having many great days ahead. Our Tripawds Nutrition blog has lots of tips, just search for ‘mets.’

We are here for you. Please don’t be shy and post in the Forums OK?
